Andreas Klasen
Andreas Klasen is full Professor of International Business at Offenburg University teaching courses on global economy, international financial management and qualitative methods. His research focuses on trade, economic development and business ethics. He is also Senior Honorary Fellow in the Global Policy Institute at Durham University, Visiting Fellow at Newcastle Business School, and a Member of the National Committee of ICC Germany.
He advises multilateral development banks, governments and international corporates on strategy, finance, trade and innovation, in particular in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. For example, he advised the Asian Development Bank as well as the European Investment Bank, and is supporting governments in Europe and the Middle East on the implementation, benchmarking and enhancement of innovation and trade instruments. He has long lasting experience in WTO disputes.
Until 2015, he was Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Germany and PwC’s Economics & Policy leader, serving as Managing Director of the official German export credit and investment guarantee agency. Before joining PwC, he was Head of Guarantees and Export Finance with EADS (Airbus Group). Until 2014, Professor Klasen served as the Vice President of the Berne Union.
Andreas Klasen was educated at the University of Wuerzburg and the University of Hanover (Law), at Northumbria University (Business and Law) and the University of St Andrews (Theology)
